BC Pharmacare Benefit Groups
- Plan B - Residential Care Clients - 100% of cost
- Plan C (CH) - those on BC Income Assistance - 100% of cost
- Plan CF (D) - digestive enzymes for cystic fibrosis - 100% of cost
- Plan F - Severely handicapped children in BC At Home Program - 100% of cost
- Plan MH (G) - psychiatric medications for low income patients on Plan G - 100% of cost
- Plan PC - those enrolled in the BC Palliative Care Program - 100% of cost
- Plan TA - eligible for Trial Prescription Program - subsidized dispensing fee if start a new drug with just 1 - 2 weeks supply.
- Plan U - universal coverage all BC citizens - cost subject to Fair Pharmacare annual deductible
- Plan W (WC, WD, WX) - First Nations Health Benefit - 100% of Cost
- Plan Z - Assurance - 100% of Cost for all
LCA (LC) - Low Cost Alternative program: Pharmacare will pay fully for the lowest cost generic equivalent. Patients must pay the difference for higher cost brands.
RDP - Reference Drug Program: Pharmacare will pay fully for the 'reference drug' which in their opinion has the same efficacy as other more expensive medications in the same class. Special Authority is needed to get approval for a more expensive medication.
